Hangin' with the Pope

Your mom's the Pope. I mean, we were at Pope Air Force Base and we stopped at a playground to let the kids go crazy. The base was amazing. We needed a change of scenery and decided get out of Fort Bragg for a day.

Caleb really liked the airplanes - the main landing strip is across the street from the playground and we watched an airplane land while playing. Caleb wanted to be an airplane so bad that he ran down a ramp, biffed it, and did a face slide through the bark - the only regret is no video. It was awesome. After our excited faces and "you're awesome" comments he jumped up and ran off to play. Little did Caleb know that another parent was watching and trying not to laugh, without much success, because the slide was so incredible. The drive home was crazy exhausting but the trip was well worth it.

See the remnants from the face-plant?

Stay OUT!!

The other day I was busily doing something on the computer when I noticed that the house was really quiet. That is bad if you have a toddler and a crawler. I immediately glanced around and barely had time to grab the camera. The boys were simultaneously playing in dog food. The computer is situated in between the two places of dog food so I merely had to swivel around to catch the boys red handed. Little Stinkers!

5K Addiction

As I was running this morning, I was thinking about how sad it is that I didn't know until now at the age of 27 how much I love to run. I love the way running makes me feel - it is as if I can feel the blood flow through my body and give me life. Sounds crazy but it is true. As I pondered this fact, I wondered how many things will be like running and how long do I have to wait to discover them? I guess I will find out as life progresses. As for now or last Saturday to be more specific, I ran a 5K with my family and some friends in Southern Pines, NC. It was a blast. The weather was perfect and the scenery was even better. If we ever take the jump and move off post, we will probably buy a house in Southern Pines because it is so beautiful! I finished at about the same time as the last but I was not nearly as worn out. I run a pretty consistent 12 minute mile. Here we are:

I must give our sons props! They sat nicely in the stroller the entire time and Caleb even encouraged me by saying "faster mommy faster" and "good job mom".

Life is a Zoo

Is there a better place than the zoo? There are plenty of things to see and plenty of places for the kiddies to run around. Caleb has not been able to stop talking about the animals; he especially loved the Rhinos and the Lions. Dax was more interested in the Pretzels and watching the older kids freak out about all the animals.

Does he look scared to you? The Gorilla not Dax! Dax is the man!

Cute kids...crazy kids...did I mention Cute kids?

Caleb loved the Elephants and Rhinos

I love my boys!

I have never seen my boys more content than when playing with a machine of some sort.

Man it's fun to be a boy!

Did I mention that this is the Zebra that farted at me? I think he is a boy and he loves it!

Family Date Night

Dave has been really busy at work this week. He has been gone from before dawn until after dusk. Then he is leaving for a week. Instead of our weekly scheduled date, we went on a family date so that we could all have fun. The weather has been so great that we decided to go miniature golfing. We got Caleb all pumped up about golfing. He kept asking us "what dolphins do?" I am not sure he ever got the entire golf thing - that is even more apparent in the following clips and pics.

Dax just chillin' and watchin' the game.

Caleb is calm and trying to see if he can figure out what Daddy-o is doing.

Caleb has gone wild and crazy and doesn't care one bit about the rules!

Mommy-o and Dax kickin' major bum bum.

Your Mom Called...

We were trying to figure out what to put on our blog and we decided to put random pictures because that is our life.....complete randomness. Although we did wash the car yesterday and I don't know why you all care about that, but there ya go. Did I mention that your mom called yesterday?

The day was perfectly overcast for pictures so I took the boys across the street to a little clearing of grass and we took pictures. This is also Dax's first time successfully riding in the wagon.

Dax was very ready for a nap and I can't help but wonder if he was having trust issues. Caleb does like to get a little crazy when Dax is around.

We haven't taken 2 year old pictures of Caleb for our wall yet so here ya go - I think this is the winner.

Peek-a-boo...I see you. I noticed that I didn't have any cute smiley pics of Caleb lately so I tried to get some and this is what I got. He loves to cooperate.

Poor little Doobs (that is what I call Dax) he was so tired he fell asleep eating lunch and we didn't even notice for several minutes because he is always quiet.

Dax moves about by hopping up and down and bending over until he almost falls. He is so close to crawling if he would just dare take the plunge...oh wait...he often plunges head first into the floor.

FINALLY!! This is the day Dave got his cast off. He is excited to have it off so he can use his hand again and sleep normal. I am excited for him to get it off so he can help change poopy diapers.

I found this costume at a garage sale 2 years ago and it was supposed to be for Caleb back then...who knew he would still love it. Dax is going to wear it this year but that is for a blog in about one month.

Hope you enjoyed the random ride of Kimsey bliss. Please join us next time for the Price is Right. Hopefully we will have great pics of the updates we have done on our home.

Mama Bird feeding the Chick

Caleb didn't really know what sugar was until he was about 18 months. I am a good mother and that was all part of my plan. It is amazing how plans can be completely thrown out the window when a two year old is around. Caleb loves popsicles and we have been working on sharing. How could I stop him from sharing his beloved popsicle with Dax? I couldn't...is it weakness? Perhaps, but that is okay because moments like this make life worth every second.
