Catalina - Inside and Out

Our baby girl is finally here! Here is a picture of me prego so you all can see exactly how huge I got, which explains how huge she was...

4 days before delivery

Catalina Susan Kimsey

I went into labor at 2 o'clock in the morning. My contractions were never consistant but we went to the hospital because I was dialated to a 4 on my visit two weeks before. In the one hour of laboring in triage, I was dialted to 8 cm. We were quickly admitted and rushed to a room so the baby wouldn't be born in the hallway. To my luck, she did not come out too fast so I was able to get an epidural. I labored/slept (thanks epidural) for the next four hours until she was absolutely ready to come out. Three pushes and the next thing we know...we have a green alien. She pooped in utero so she was covered in green slime. Needless to say she was still absolutley adorable. She was taken immediately by a nurse to ensure that her lungs were healthy due to the myconium - she was fine and has a great set of lungs. She sleeps great, eats great and has been an amazing gift. Her final measurements were:

9lbs 11oz and 21 inches long.

Trick or Treat Smell My Feet

Halloween always comes early for us because of our ward Trunk or Treat. So, I had exactly one week less time to make my kids 'Army Guys' costumes than most moms. Pretty much I think they are the coolest costumes ever! Especially since they are Dave's old uniforms minimized. All of the following are original: pockets, collar, badges, cuffs, and pant top. Not only am I proud of myself but Caleb has not wanted to be separated from his since I made them.

They have so much fun playing together - I love it!

When I came down stairs in ACU's, which barely fit due to my prego belly, Caleb said

"your going to be an Army Guy too?!"

Caleb was so excited to say "Trick or Treat" but he didn't realize that he got candy for saying it. And didn't really care when people put candy in his helmet.

After two cars we just sat in the back of our car and passed out candy.

Each month we plan a temple trip with our friends the Jacksons. We bring our kids and we swap temple time with kid watching. This works our perfectly because our children are probably the most excited kids to ever go to the temple - they know it is best friend time. Caleb will often ask me "can we go to the temple?" and this really means "can we see Preston and Spencer?"

I know that military life can stink for kids because they lose friends almost as quick as dollar store toys break. We have been lucky enough to give our kids best friends! The Lord has blessed us even greater because both our families are having baby girls in the next few months. Coinsidence - I think not.

Caleb's First Soccer Season

The season began with one excited 3 year old. He would talk about kicking the ball and running and his cool new socks. Then we went to our first game...you'd never realize that a 3 year old is capable of being "all talk" until you do. The first three games consisted of Caleb eating - if he wasn't eating then he was crying. The next three games were full of pouting, crying, and tantrum throwing. The only way he would stand on the field is if Dave or I were there with him. Interestingly enough, he would again talk up his soccer playing after the game - yes, that is right the game he didn't play.

Then all of a sudden, the entire world changed and he finally got what it was to play soccer. He would play most of the game and if he fell, he would get up and keep going. If he was thirsty, he would run out, get a drink and head back into the game. After one of the successful games he said, "you see how I pushed those kids to get the ball?" For some reason he just got it and when he finally got it - he GOT IT! He didn't actually push kids down or anything but he was not afraid to go after the ball. He also made a couple of goals...one being in the other teams goal but hey he is three and most of the goals are like that. All in all it was a good experience and we loved watching him play.

We need a middle name

Yes, we are having a little girl. She is due February 16th. Julie is already seeing visions of pink and lavender, but when she's gone I've got a monster truck shirt reserved for her. Let us know what you think.

Number 3

So here is the deal...I am prego with number 3. We are really excited and hopefully you will all understand now why we have not been blogging. We have tons of stuff to catch up on so get ready for more blogs. I should find out in about a week what the baby is so feel free to cast your vote on the side of our blog.

Going Home

I have not been Home for a long time. My family has moved away and it is hard finding time to get back. Luckily, my 10 year high school reunion came up and gave me an excuse to go see friends and bump into people that I have not kept in touch with. Moving far away is hard because I really do miss seeing random people.

While I was home, I gave my kiddo's a taste of my childhood. We went to Snow Canyon Park for everything - camping, birthdays, summer days, and just because. I had to let the boys climb all over the rocks that I loved.

THE REUNION

It started with a family activity in the morning.

My kids love the bouncers.

Dax didn't even mind if big kids were in there as long as he could fall all over.

Caleb is a jumper.

The bigger kids intimidated him a little but he toughed it out.

Dinner was delicious.

The entertainment was great -

mostly because my friends were in charge so it was all about us.

And the memories were crazy!!

It was fun and I would not have missed it for the world.
